About Us
Young Illinois Saves is a community based effort to empower Illinois to help other students increase their saving and financial literacy. Young Illinois Saves provides simple exercises and educational presentations to train students to motivate other students to save. Young Illinois Saves connects students to other Savers and provides saving incentives using simple online tools. Young Illinois Saves connects students, schools and youth organizations to financial institutions so that youth can benefit from high quality saving accounts with low minimums and no fees.
Through Young Illinois Saves, students are challenged to take the first step in reaching their financial goals by making a savings commitment. We believe that all students can begin to build wealth by setting savings goals, saving first, developing a habit of saving and banking.
Our Goal
Our Goal is to increase student saving and financial literacy in the State of Illinois. We believe that by involving students in developing the habit of regular saving, students will be invested in their financial well-being and retain financial education. We especially strive to assist students from low to moderate income communities in attaining their financial goals. Through increased saving and financial literacy, we believe all students can reach their financial goals.
